Computer, English, and Ultrasound/ECG Laboratories

Lincoln University Computer Lab

          The Computer Laboratory is equipped with modern computers and DSL access to the Internet on all workstations. There is a network system designed to aid the student in developing computer skills. The system offers students experience in computer programming on an industrial operating system, access to a highly sophisticated database system and increased processing power for acquisition of popular application programs, such as: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. In addition the centralized computer system, the existing laboratory has been constantly upgraded to contain more of the popular application programs available. Computer laboratory assistants are available to help students with programming issues and Internet assignments. All students are provided with a Lincoln University e-mail address.
          Lincoln’s English Lab is integrated with the University’s computer lab and also offers video, audio, and general media projection systems. The English Lab has a variety of print and audio/video materials for lab room use and/or checkout. The growing resources available are included in the English curriculum by instructors and the course text and their supplements.

          The ultrasound/ECG Lab at Lincoln University is equipped with modern, sophisticated ultrasound equipment, which is used for various medical imaging applications. The equipment has standard features: 2D, M-Mode, Color Flow Imaging, Spectral Doppler, and mixed Modes. Different types of transducers (Linear, Curved, Convex, Phased, and Vector) at a wide range of frequencies (from 2.25MHz to 7.5 MHz) provide adequate supports for Abdominal, OB&GYN, Cardiac, Vascular and Breast Imaging. A 12 leads ECG machine is used to perform the echocardiogram study. The equipment is periodically checked and maintained for accuracy, quality, and reliability. Students’ lab practice is guided and supervised by qualified technicians.
